The luxury car marque Lexus has launched the ES facelift in India with the prices starting at Rs 56.65 lakh (ex-showroom). It is available in two variants - Exquisite and Luxury. That said, the seventh-generation ES was showcased worldwide in 2018 and roughly after three years, in April 2021, Lexus brought the updated ES to a few international markets.
This mid-life update brings some basic upgrades to the saloon's exterior. Firstly, there is a new mesh-patterned ‘spindle grille’ and the bumper features boomerang-styled sections with chrome inserts. Moving on, the ES also gets new bi-beam LED headlights and L-shaped LED taillights. Apart from that, it is equipped with a new set of 18-inch alloy wheels.
On the inside, the ES gets a refreshed interior with semi-aniline leather upholstery available in Hazel and Black themes. Additionally, the cabin also features a Walnut trim with wooden inlay. Lexus has moved the 12.3-inch infotainment unit closer and slightly tilted towards the driver. Besides that, Lexus provides a 17-speaker Mark Levinson sound system in the Luxury variant of the car. Meanwhile, the displays inside utilise new glass layers for improved usability.
The new Lexus ES is powered by a 2.5-litre in-line four-cylinder petrol engine that makes 176bhp and 221Nm of torque and is mated to an eCVT automatic. Like the previous ES, this model also comes with a 1.6kW battery pack which can generate 118bhp and 202Nm of torque. This battery pack also enables the ES to run solely on the electric power.
Here are the variant specific prices of the new ES. The Exquisite costs Rs 56.65 lakh (ex-showroom) while the Luxury is priced at Rs 61.85 lakh (ex-showroom).
