Audi has officially launched the latest-gen RS5 in the UK. The high-performance coupe with its new 450bhp bi-turbo V6 has been priced at £62,900 on-road, which roughly translates to around Rs 52.07 lakh.
With 600Nm of torque, the new 2.9-litre V6 holds a 170Nm advantage over its naturally aspirated V8 predecessor. It can sprint from 0 to 100kmph in just 3.9 seconds and with the optional dynamic package, it reaches a top speed of 280kmph.
The bi-turbo’s copious power is managed by the eight-speed tiptronic transmission and the reworked five-link front and all-new rear RS-spec suspension, which is supported by quattro all-wheel drive. The centre differential-based system distributes drive forces in a 40:60 front-to-rear ratio.
On the outside, the new RS5 gets pronounced air intakes, gaping oval exhaust tailpipes, widened wheel arches and a honeycomb design for the single frame grille. In this latest model, this look can be further enhanced by new features such as a full carbon roof and by bundled appearance packs that accentuate the sill strips, mirror cap and diffuser insert. And for maximum visual impact, the 19-inch alloy wheels can also be upgraded to a 20-inch design.
