2016 Renault Duster - First Look Review

The Duster compact SUV has been the game changer for Renault in India. At the recently concluded 2016 Auto Expo event in the country, the company had unveiled the new Duster. The vehicle has finally launched in India at a starting price of Rs 8,46,999. The new model comes with a refreshed front and rear design. The vehicle now comes with a total of over 32 fresh upgrades in terms of technical upgrades and styling.

The new Renault Duster comes with is based on the ‘CMO10’ & ‘T4 E&E’ architecture that offers superior handling and drive quality, along with enhanced safety. The vehicle comes with K9K 1.5 litre dCi engine that offers superior performance and impressive mileage figures. The AWD variant generates a maximum power output of about 109bhp at 4000rpm and 245Nm of torque at 1750rpm. The 6-speed manual variant returns a fuel efficiency figure of about 19.72 kmpl. As a fresh edition, the company has also introduced the country’s first 6 speed Easy – R AMT in a diesel powertrain mated to same K9K 1.5 litre dCi engine that returns a fuel efficiency figure of about 19.6 kmpl.

The new front and rear design of the 2016 Renault Duster is additionally complimented with the introduction of new color option - Cayenne Orange. As for features, it comes with Electrically Adjustable & Foldable ORVM’s with turn indicators, Waterfall LED Tail Lamps, Hawk Eye Cluster Headlamps and Firefly Fog Lamps. The new Duster also gets 16-inch Gun Metal Finish Alloy wheels and Kayak Roof Rails. The interiors in the AWD come blessed with Crimson-Black Interior Theme with sporty Double Spacer Fabric, while the rest of the variants feature Cedarwood-Black Interiors theme with Premium Embossed Fabric and Dual Tone Soft Touch dashboard.

Renault offering due importance to safety factor has introduced a wide range of active and passive safety features like ABS, EBD with Brake Assist, Dual Airbags, ESP & Hill start assist. For convenience, it comes leaded with New Automatic Air Conditioning, New Auto-up/down window with anti-pinch, New Media Nav on the new centre fascia.

The New 2016 Renault Duster loaded with new technological, styling and feature upgrades, it indeed holds a strong position for itself in comparison to the Ford’s Ecosport.
