Audi will officially reveal the next-gen A5 coupe on June 2. Just ahead of its global unveil, the manufacturer has released some teasers revealing details of the car.
The most prominent change in the front is to the headlamps, which look similar to the ones on the new-gen R8. We can expect the automaker to offer optional Matrix LED, Xenon and LED headlamps as seen on their other new cars. The fascia boasts of Audi's new huge single-frame hexagonal grille. The other teasers also reveal that the German carmaker has made the A5 coupe more aerodynamic than the A4 sedan.
The Audi A5 is based on A4's MLB Evo platform, so the new coupe is expected to be 100kg lighter. This also means the car will have a better efficiency and performance. On the powertrain front, we can expect four-cylinder and six-cylinder engines, which will come mated to either a six-speed manual or an eight-speed automatic transmission. Audi's Quattro all-wheel drive system can also be seen on the top-spec models.
Audi will take the wraps off the new A5 next month and will launch it in the global market. However, it might not be introduced to our Indian market. Instead, the A5 sportback might be launched, which was recently spotted testing in our country.
