The much awaited, widely acclaimed BMW 6 Series Gran Coupe is all set to hit the roads in the country today. Gran Coupe is an offspring between a sports car and a luxury sedan and boasts of some elegant curves, dashing looks and excellent performance. This first ever four door car from BMW, apart from its appealing looks, comes with a host of safety and comfort features.
BMW, as of now, has decided to launch just the 640d model of 6 Series Gran Coupe in India, which is a diesel powered car housing a 2993cc TwinTurbo 6 cylinder engine. This powertrain is capable of churning out a power of 309 bhp at 4400 rpm and a torque as high as 630 Nm between 1500 and 2500 rpm. The massive engine of the all new Gran Coupe, mated with a 8 speed automatic gearbox, has a great acceleration and pick up and is capable of reaching 0 to 100 kmph in just 5.4 seconds.
The car has an elegant and neatly finished interiors with some curves never seen before. According to BMW, the car has a seating capability for five people with 2+3 seating arrangements. However, as the central console extends till the rear, the third passenger on the back seat will find difficulty making himself comfortable. The car has been stretched in length by 187mm in comparison to its coupe sibling and measures 5,007mm in length; thus providing more space.
BMW 6 Series Gran Coupe is likely to be priced close to Rs. 1 Crore and will be best suited for those who look for luxury along with style.
