      BMW Group endeavors to achieve 2020 sales targets by 2016

      With sales, profits and revenues reaching newer heights, the German luxury automaker BMW is looking forward to achieve its set targets before the stipulated period. The company is confidently anticipating to selling over 2 million vehicles by 2016 while this target was planned for the year 2020.

      The global sales of the company took off on a great start in the beginning of this year and the auto giant is expecting the sales are recorded at the same pace throughout the year.

      With the new trendy and upbeat models being introduced in the global market under MINI and Rolls Royce marquee, the company has been enlisted among the fastest growing automotive firms at the international platform.

      The global launch of the new version of BMW 5 Series and compact 1 series has highly benefitted the sales volume and revenues of the company.

      Mr. Norbert Reithofer, Chairman of Board of Management, BMW AG, commented on the future prospects of the company at the Annual Accounts Press Conference in Munich this week. "We are targeting new highs in sales volume and pre-tax earnings for 2012." He further added, "We are targeting a worldwide sales volume of more than two million vehicles in 2016 and hence significantly earlier than originally planned for 2020."

      In order to maintain the pace of the global sales growth, the company is planning to expand its entry into newer and high potent markets with the expansion of its dealership networks coupled with the strategic investments to be incurred in developing and bringing in new and highly advanced technology.
