With the launch of Nissan Evalia, Mahindra Xylo and Maruti Suzuki Ertiga, the Indian auto market has more multi purpose vehicle (mpv) option than ever before. This list of choice for the Indian buyers in the multi purpose vehicle segment is all set to get even longer with speculations on the rise that Chevrolet Enjoy MPV would be launched next month. The first look of Enjoy MPV was revealed at the Auto Expo in January this year, where it was showcased.
The Chevrolet Enjoy, which has quite a big length and conservative styling, has been jointly developed by GM and Shanghai Automotive Industry Corporation (SAIC) and is based on the Wuling CN100 a.k.a Hongguang MPV. The car would have enhanced safety features including air bags, safety belts with load limiters, anti-lock brakes and tubeless tyres and is likely to come with a price tag between Rs. 6-7 lacs. The all new Chevrolet Enjoy would be a 7 seater car with plenty of space and is likely to be available in both diesel and petrol option.
The petrol variant is expected to house a 1.4 litre engine, which can deliver a power as high as 93.7 bhp while the diesel variant would be powered by a 1.3 litre multi jet engine. In such a case, the all new Chevrolet Enjoy will prove to be a real contender of the newly launched Nissan Evalia, which also houses a 1.4 litre diesel engine. While the Evalia offers a decent mileage of 19.33 kmpl, the all new Chevrolet Enjoy is also expected to give a fuel economy of 20 kmpl. Enjoy will also compete against the much in demand Maruti Suzuki Ertiga that houses 1.3 litre engine in its VXI petrol variant and 1.24 litre engine in LDI diesel variant delivering a mileage of 20.77 kmpl.
