Indian's have always held a fancy to carry a cleaner image of themselves, and what reflects purity better than the shade of white? Unlike clothes where an Indian may opt for lively and bright shades, when it comes to cars, they may Go for cars that are available in white color. As per a recent survey conducted by sources, the reports state that, one out of every two cars that were sold was available in white shade.
Reasons like hot Indian climate has also been a deterrent for customers opting for Black color as it absorbs more heat. Moreover, factors like good resale value and easy maintenance further makes it a preferred pick in the domestic market. As per a study conducted by JD Power, a red shaded car is slightly more preferred at 7% in comparison to Black. The red shade along with the maroon shade accounted for about 11% total sales way back in 2013. the report also stated that in the northern part of India, about 66% of buyers opted for white shade, whereas down south about 34% have opted for white. The report also shows that in the eastern part of the country about 14% of new cars sold are sold in shades of red or maroon.
