      Google s driverless cars report 11 minor traffic accidents

      In a recent development, technology giants Google Inc. has revealed that its self-driving cars had been involved in 11 minor traffic accidents since the technology had been implemented around six years back. A report by Associated Press stated the Google had made information available regarding the crash of three of its driverless cars since September. This had been done because reporting these sort of accidents had become a legal compulsion for facilitation of allowance on road testing.

      An official from Google communicated in a web post that all accidents had been minor and no injuries had been caused. Adding further, the post stated that collisions happened over a cumulative distance of 1.7 million miles of testing, which included almost 1 million miles driven in the self-mode.

      According to AP, they received an accident report from Delphi that showed that its car was hit but no public records were made available, which meant that Google’s word had to be believed. In addition, the Department of Motor Vehicles in Calfornia revealed that it was not able to release details from the accident. Critics claimed that the lack of transparency is likely to Go against Google and it will not bode well with public.
