Hyundai’s upcoming offering, iX25 is rumoured to be launched in the Chinese auto market during October. The South Korean auto maker exhibited the vehicle at the 2014 Beijing Motor Show. Production version of the upcoming iX25 is said to vary a tad from the prototype showcased at the grandiose motor show. However, except for the outer details, the company kept most of interior details under the wraps since the vehicle exhibited at Beijing had tinted glasses. Ford EcoSport rivalling SUV, is said to measure 4,270 mm long, 1,780 mm wide and 1,630 mm tall. Wheelbase measuring 2,590 mm will offer ample space inside the cabin.
Reports circulating in Chinese media opine that Hyundai could pack a 1.6 litre and a 2.0 litre naturally aspirated powertrain in the new iX25. Both the engines are expected to be coupled to a six-speed manual transmission.
iX25 will be bestowed with the Hyundai’s new Fluidic v2.0 design language rendering the mini-SUV a contemporary look. Hyundai iX25 will be manufactured in China under the Beijing Hyundai JV. China is undoubtedly a significant market for the auto maker and it eyes roping in good numbers every month.
Indian market is unlikely to witness launch of new iX25 anytime soon, currently the company is preparing to roll out facelifted i20 hatchback in India. Besides this, Hyundai India’s newly inducted Xcent compact sedan currently attracts a long waiting period which it plans to bring down soon.
