Benelli, the Italian motorcycle giant, has been par excellence. The company with 100 years of commitment and with 30,000 units sold every year is a religion for many. The amazingly fast yet trendy motorcycles that have kept pace with time have been an instant hit across the globe. Indians have nonetheless been hit by the rage and so Benelli has teamed up with DSK to launch 5 new bikes towards year end.
Of the 5, the first one is TNT 302 (‘Tornado Naked Tre’), which is the most affordable of the lot and close to Rs. 3.75 lakh. Weighing more than 185 kg, one can choose between the colours orange and white.The bike has a 300cc, liquid cooled, two cylinders, which generates a maximum power of 36.2 BHP. It comes with a 16 liter capacity fuel tank. Its dimensions being, 2115*800*1130 mm, a robot looking mean device with V shaped headlamps, comes with maximum torque of 27 nm at 9000 rpm.
The next in range is the peppy TNT 600i with 600cc, 4 cylinder liquid cooled engines producing 80.5 BHP at 11,500 RPM engine with clean and suave styling. With torque of 5.3 kgm at 10,500 RPM, its suspension and brake setup are identical to the TNT 302.
The 600GT gets projector headlights, comfortable seats, under-belly exhaust, 27 Liter fuel tank and reduced wheelbase. With its increased features, it is a mean machine and churns out a higher 5.6 kgm of torque.
TNT 899 is a moderately heavy bike, with an 899cc, liquid-cooled cylinder with balancer shaft. The engine can produce power of 121 BHP and torque of 88Nm. The huge and wider tires at both the ends come fixed with dual 320mm floating disc brakes.
The TNT 1130R with 1131cc three-cylinder engine, uses a better exhaust muffler and generates 158 BHP of power along with a net torque of 120Nm. Fully adjustable upside down forks are equipped at the front and ZF Sachs shock at the rear.
