Mahindra & Mahindra has introduced two commercial vehicles – Supro Maxitruck and Supro Van – in the Indian market. While the former is positioned above the Maxximo Plus, the latter is placed above the Maxximo Van. Available in three trims, the Maxitruck and Van will compete against the Tata Ace and Maruti Omni respectively.
Mahindra Supro Maxitruck Price (Ex-showroom, Thane)
T2 – Rs. 4.25 lakh
T4 – Rs. 4.45 lakh
T6 – Rs. 4.75 lakh
Mahindra Supro Van Price (Ex-showroom, Thane)
LX – Rs. 4.38 lakh (eight-seater)
VX – Rs. 4.63 lakh (five and eight seater)
ZX – Rs. 4.93 lakh (five-seater)
Powering the Supro twin is a 909cc, turbocharged direct-injection diesel engine that churns out a maximum power of 43bhp and a peak torque of 98Nm. Transmitting power to the wheels is a five-speed manual transmission. Available in BSIII and BSIV options, this engine can hit a top speed of 95km/h. The Mahindra Supro Maxitruck is claimed to return fuel efficiency of 22.4km/l, while the Supro Van offers 23.5km/l. The Maxitruck has a payload capacity of 1,000kgs.
Based on an all-new commercial vehicle platform, the Supro twin features front collision impact absorbing structure, dual-LSPV brakes, air conditioning unit, mobile charger, power steering and floor console with bottle holders. The Mahindra Supro Van is available with five and eight-seat configurations.
For the Supro commercial vehicles, there are 1600 service centers across the country. Both the vehicles have been developed with a budget of Rs. 120 crore, and manufactured at Mahindra & Mahindra’s Chakan facility.
