      Royal Enfield has stolen the hearts of many motorcycle enthusiasts in the country. In an attempt to strengthen its position and earn the title of being the No. 1 mid-sized motorcycle maker in the world, the company has reportedly been working on a strategic plan. The bikemaker has reportedly witnessed about 50% growth in exports over the last 18 months.

      Royal Enfield has also been considering expanding production at Oragadam plant to about 450,000 units per annum by December this year, as against the current output of about 3,00,000 units. With the increase in production units, it is also quite obvious that the company may also hire more resources for operations. Moreover, the company has also reportedly also acquired a 50-acre land between Sriperumbudur and Oragadam that can be used for its expansion plans in future. The company has set-up its R&D centre on the Mahabalipuram road near Chennai.

      To guide the company in the right direction, the company has also been hiring new resources in top management namely Rudratej Rudy Singh, an ex-unilever employee, as the new president. Siddharth Lal has been appointed as the new MD, famous motorcycle designer Pierre Terblanche has also been hired on board and the company also roped-in Rod Copes as the president for North America.
