Recently German auto major Volkswagen revealed its plans to unveil three new products at the 2016 Auto Expo event in Delhi, one among that is a sub-4 metre compact sedan that has been specifically designed for the Indian market. Additionally, the company shall also be showcasing its premier sports utility vehicle Tiguan and sedan Passat GTE at the 13th edition of the popular event. The 2016 Delhi Auto Expo will be held from February 5-9.
Speaking more on the occasion Michael Mayer, Director, Volkswagen Passenger Cars India, said, "The Indian Compact Sedan, our made-in-India and made-for-India carline, is a truly special offering from the Volkswagen stable with all the brand values of best in class safety features, build quality and a great driving experience, and is expected to be a game-changer for us." The sub-4 metre compact sedan has been designed specifically for the Indian market and is manufactured at the Volkswagen facility in Chakan, Maharashtra.
The premium SUV Tiguan is another highly anticipated product being showcased, keeping in mind the accelerated growth of the segment, he added. "We will also be introducing the new Passat to the Indian market in 2016. Through the showcase of Passat GTE we have an opportunity to highlight Volkswagen's environmentally responsible plug-in hybrid technology," Mayer said. With this dynamic product offering, the company would also like to re-iterate its firm commitment to the Indian consumer, he added. Among popular ones, Volkswagen sells the Polo, Vento, Jetta and Beetle premium hatchback in India.
