      Warranty dishonoured, poor quality

9 years ago | Bijoy Das

      Whats Good

      Safety, comfort, space, price.

      What Can Improve

Warranty, quality of components, integration of accessories, mileage.

Buy Tata's Manza if you feel warranty is not important and quality/longevity of parts & accessories is also a minor matter. I bought this car in Aug 2010 and also took an extended warranty (2+2 years). Before the third year the lever to adjust the headlight elevation broke down. Soon after I had serviced the car from one Bedi Motors, Race Course Road, Delhi, after checking out from Tata Motors customer service helpline that it was an authorised service centre. It turned out that Bedi Motors was no more one and happily duped me, while Tata Motors too didn't have the updated list with the customer service and misguided me. Not only that, the stupid service technician at Bedi Motors damaged some of the battery leads. When I had to get these repaired at Concorde Motors, Mathura Road, Delhi, they repeatedly refused to change the lever under warranty on the ground that I've nullified the warranty by getting the car serviced at a "non authorised" centre (Bedi). That was my first shock from Tata. Six months ago when I got it serviced at Concorde, Patparganj, Delhi, when the car was just 4 years old, the service engineer informed that the radiator fan is breaking down causing extra noise, vibration. Two months back, the stereo (Blaupunkt) stopped working which made my 10 year son ask me: Papa, why Tata? Though a dragging glass pane is normal, but a burning odour inside the cabin isn't! Yesterday I deposited the car again with Concorde, Patparganj. Later I was informed that the least that would be billed would be Rs. 15000/- along with a failing clutch (Rs. 8000/-). Today I was again informed that they would take at least 3 days for all the repairs, and another Rs. 8000/- would be added for the radiator fan assembly. And the headlight lever, stereo aren't included yet! And btw, I'm known in my circles as a good driver who has taken good care of all his cars. So for me, this is the first and last Tata. But sadly, the Indian market is too large, the advertising-automobile lobby too strong, and customer protection too weak to prevent more people becoming as unfortunate as me. Would like your suggestions... bijoy1383@yahoo.co.uk

I suggest Manza. Its feature rich compared to Dzire. free goodies, other offers and no waiting period. With Dzire please dont expect any freebies.. For Maruti their attitude is like if you want you take it. Manza and Dzire were my last choices and had done lot of studies, but for some other reason I went for Ford Fiesta. Tata service is better than Maruti this is the feedback I got from my friends who owns Maruti / Tata. I too have a Tata Indica. I prefer Concord Motors than any other dealers since its Tata direct showroom. During test drive I felt Dzire is more sportier than Manza. But for family use Manza will be the best considering space, comfort, style (Its depends on person ;) ).

I really liked Manza at the first sight & on test drive of the vehicle with so many features of luxury car that available at cheaper price made me to buy this car, its a fantastic car with good interiors backed by comfort travel for a small family of 4 , all these factors I considered while buying even my mind was at swift dezire, at the last minute I changed & bought this car, lets see how it takes in near future. As till date no problem with the car.

I have taken the test drive of Manza in Deisel version, I found the said car was also pleasure driving car & the interior of Manza was good in comparesion to other Tata cars, overall the car is rich in features, comfort etc, with low Price tag which no other manufactures can provide. I have also test driven Dzire in Deisel version. In my suggestion Manza is better than Dzire, should opt for Manza.

hi friends.thanx for ur advise.i brought home my dream car indigo manza aura saffire abs on 4 aug 10 which i have selected after lot of on line research and ofcourse on your sensible and good advice.i m fully satisfied with the performance of car and so far have driven 2200 km including 800 km long drive in one day.few problems like one of power window swith not working, power window getting stuck before fully closing due to teared rubber gasket around window was replaced during first servicing free of charge as it is under warrantty.in dailly run of around 15 km with full of speed breakers and turnings almost every 01 km, it is giving mileage of 12 kmpl.besides getting appreciation from owners of honda cars and maruti cars who tried their hands on my car,it gives pride when people turn thier heads have a glimps.once again i thank you all and especially mr. shiva shankar.

im a proud owner of TATA MANZA Safire plus. i found the car to be spacious, good A/C, nice blue tooth features, decent audio system( though not that great). pick is fine but could have been better, mileage is the only sore point. the ride is excellent and value for money. Tata customer service is far from satisfactory. if TATAs have to sustain in automobile market, they need to match the standards of Maruti and Hyundai. Though they have upgraded their products and have changed common perceptions, they really need to work on service after sales.
