Honda Cars India (HCI) is all set to launch the much-awaited Jazz premium hatchback in the Indian market tomorrow (July 8, 2015). Claimed to be India’s second most fuel efficient diesel car, the 2015 Honda Jazz will take on the Hyundai Elite i20 and Maruti Suzuki Swift.

Power for the Jazz comes from a 1.5-litre Earth Dreams i-DTEC diesel and 1.2-litre i-VTEC petrol engine that also do duty to the Amaze. While the former produces a maximum power of 100PS and 200Nm of torque, the latter offers 90PS and 110Nm. The Jazz diesel is claimed to return a fuel economy of 27.3kmpl (ARAI-rated figure) that makes it second most frugal diesel car of the country. On the other hand, the petrol variant delivers 18.7kmpl (manual) and 19kmpl (CVT). Transmissions on offer are a 6-speed manual (petrol), a 5-speed manual (diesel) and first-in-segment CVT automatic with paddle shifter (diesel).
