The 2016 Chevrolet Trailblazer has been caught testing ahead of its launch in the festive season (September- October, 2015). Set to rival the Hyundai Santa Fe, Mitsubishi Pajero and the upcoming new-gen Toyota Fortuner and Ford Endeavour, the Trailblazer will be brought via CKD (completely knocked-down) route, and then assembled at GM’s Halol plant.
A report claims that the spied model is the 2WD AT variant of the SUV. Powering the Trailblazer will be a 2.8-litre, Duramax four-cylinder diesel engine mated to a 6-speed manual transmission. It churns out a maximum power output of 200bhp, and a class-leading torque of 500Nm.
Based on GM’ ladder frame chassis, the Trailblazer will measure 4,866mm in length, 1,902mm in width and 1,848mm in height, and get a wheelbase of 2,845mm. On the exterior, the SUV will feature projector headlights with LED daytime running lights, 17-18-inches alloy wheels and LED brake lights.
Inside, the car gets a dual-tone black and beige interior with a 7-inch Chevrolet’s MyLink touchscreen infotainment system with iOS and Android support, premium upholstery, reverse camera with chromatic LCD monitor and rear view mirror, a dash camera with 32GB memory and tyre pressure monitoring system (TPMS). The SUV will be equipped with advanced safety features such as ABS (anti-lock braking system), ESC (electronic stability control), EBD (electronic brake-force distribution system), airbags for driver and co-passenger, engine drag control, hill descent control and traction control.
