Volkswagen Group reportedly has announced three separate recalls in the US and Canada. The recall, involving up to 3.34 lakh Audi and VW models, has been caused by possible fuel leaks with different causes.
Although there is a possibility that the fuel leaks could lead to a risk of fire, there have been no incidents reported yet. Among the affected lot, there’s petrol-powered versions of the Audi Q5 (2009-2012), Q7 (2007-2012), A6/A7 (2012-2013) as well as VW Golf, GTI, Audi A3 and A3 Cabriolet models. Around 83 per cent of the vehicles recalled are registered in the US.
VW is already at work, notifying owners of the affected vehicles and carrying out the recall process and repairs free of charge.
