Maruti Suzuki India to introduce their premium hatchback, the Baleno, to 100 newer markets globally. The Baleno, which has already crossed one lakh milestone sales in India will be shipped to Middle East, Latin America, and South East Asian countries in coming days.
The Baleno is planned to be introduced in the Caribbean Islands, South American countries like Uruguay, Bolivia, Costa Rica, Honduras, Panama, and Peru, Middle Eastern countries including UAE, Oman, Kuwait, Lebanon, Qatar, and Saudi Arabia, South Africa and Indonesia.
Launched in October last year, till date Maruti Suzuki has exported about 33,800 units of Baleno across the globe. The premium hatch has also become the first car from Maruti Suzuki to be exported to Japan.The Baleno is currently being manufactured at Maruti’s Manesar plant in Haryana, where the automaker and its supplier partners have put in Rs 1,060 crore for the development of Baleno.
Presently, the Baleno is being exported to European countries like France, Denmark, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Iceland, Italy, Netherlands, Poland, England, Austria, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Asian countries including Nepal, Bhutan and Japan, and also Chile, Israel, and Australia.
