Mercedes’ trendy crossover to finally get more power to boot and an AWD.
When Mercedes-Benz launched the GLA 200d, it came across as an extremely versatile machine with a blend of luxury and versatility. While it was more than capable of handling bad roads and potholes thanks to its generous ground clearance, one could not take drive it around tricky terrain owing to its front wheel drive limitations.
Mercedes understood the need of the adventurists and is coming out with a 4MATIC variant of the GLA soon. To power through arduous terrain, the GLA will come in the 220d guise pushing out 170 bhp compared to the 136 bhp of the current version. Of course even with the 4MATIC option don’t expect it to be a hardcore of-roader because in the end the GLA is meant to be driven more on the road than off it.On the exteriors expect a new badge and new alloys and a few new colours.
The GLA 200d is priced at Rs. 36 lakh ex-Delhi so we can expect the newer 220d 4MATIC to cost at least a lakh and half more.
