      Bajaj Pulsar RS200 receives over 3,500 bookings within a month

      The Bajaj Pulsar RS200 has received an overwhelming response in the Indian market by registering over 3, 500 bookings within a month of its launch. The bike was launched only in 17 cities in two variants – with ABS and without ABS at Rs. 1.30 lakh and Rs. 1.18 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi) respectively. Within 10 days of launch, the Pulsar RS200 had received bookings of 1, 000 units, which has now increased to 3, 500 units. However, the company hasn’t disclosed the ratio of demand between ABS and without ABS variants of the bike.

      When asked about the variant ratio demand, the President of Bajaj Motorcycle Business, Mr. Eric Vas said that they areanalysingthe market demand andhoping the ratio will be 50-50 between both the variants. With the increasing popularity of the entry-level performance bikes, the Bajaj Pulsar RS200 is expected to perform well in the Indian market. He further added that they sell 60,000 units monthly of Pulsar motorcycles, which is almost 1/3rd of their monthly motorcycle sales.

      The RS200 is powered with a 199.5cc, 4-valve, triple spark, DTSi engine with liquid cooling and fuel injection. This engine churns out a maximum power of 24.5PS, while yielding a peak torque of 18.6Nm. It is claimed to touch the maximum speed of 141kmph. The bike looks quite attractive with the HD focus dual projector head-lights. Other interesting elements are stylish front fairing, clip-on handlebar, split seat, a small-side slung exhaust and NS-200 inspired plastic spatter guard and tank.

      For people not in the know, Bajaj Auto is planning to add three more versions to the Pulsar range – 150NS, RS400 and CS400.
