IAA Frankfurt Auto Show just got all the more amazing with the image release of the instrument panel of the next generation BMW 7-Series. The image has shown that the instrument cluster will be half-analogue and half-digital. The Frankfurt Auto Show is set to be held in September 2015. The new BMW 7-Series will rival the Mercedes-Benz S-Class, which has a completely digital cluster. The dashboard has combined the analog and digital cluster in a never-before seen form.
The gauge cluster features two interconnected, prominent circular readouts. The speedometer has analogue reading up to 210 kilometres per hour and transitions to digital format till 260 kilometres per hour. The tachometer has a similar story as it shows digital reading from 0 to 1400 rpm and then transitions to digital.
The 2016 BMW 7-Series comes with an entirely new fascia, which is accompanied by redesigned headlights. These can be ordered with the new laserlight technology of the company. The side lines have been heavily modified at the rear with sleek modern tail lights adorning the car. A prominent chrome accent and slim chrome tail pipes make up for the remaining highlights.
The 2016 BMW 7-Series will also take up a new chassis, which will combine both, aluminium as well as carbon fibre. The car will now weigh approximately 204 kilograms less than the outgoing model. Some recent reports have also reported that the next-generation BMW 7-Series will also adopt the new inline of six-cylinders, which are a part of the BMW new modular engine architecture.
