Honda, the Japanese automobile manufacturer, has revealed the new generation Honda Shuttle. It is basically a station wagon version of the new Jazz or City. The previous generation model was named the Honda Jazz Shuttle.
Based on the Jazz hatchback, the station wagon has longer rear overhang that contributes to its superior cargo volume. While the hatchback sibling offers 354-litre of boot space, the station wagon offers 884-litres of luggage space when the rear seats are folded.
Under the bonnet is a hybrid powertrain that comprises of a 1.5-litre Atkinson-cycle engine working with an electric motor and a lithium-ion battery. This engine is paired to a dual-clutch automatic gearbox driving the power to all-wheels of the car. The hybrid powertrain is claimed to return an impressive fuel economy of 36.4kmpl. The entry level variant of the car will get a 1.5-litre petrol engine with front wheel drive configuration.
The new-gen Honda Shuttle is equipped with various advanced comfort & convenience and safety features. The massive wheels of the car have been fitted to 16-inch alloy wheels. It is equipped with city brake active system, Honda Smart Key , navigation system, leather wrapped multi-functional steering wheel, push button start, climate control with touch operations, fog lamps, etc. For passenger safety and security, the Station Wagon gets dual airbags, anti-lock braking system, electronic brakeforce distribution, etc. The Japanese market will get three hybrid and one petrol variant of the Jazz Shuttle.
