In an attempt to push its MPV for the festive season, Chevrolet now offers the Enjoy at a starting price of Rs 4.99 lakh. The low pricing is likely to attract buyers who have been looking out for an MPV, yet were refraining from buying one due to high prices. Though Toyota’s Innova and Maruti’s Ertiga have been top choices in the MPV segment, the new festive offer is likely to help Chevrolet gain some momentum in this category.
With the revision in variant prices, the maximum price drop is of Rs 1.94 lakh. The American automaker has plans to introduce the new Spin as a replacement to the Enjoy, but with low demand for MPVs in India, the automaker shelved plans for the Spin and continued offering the Enjoy MPV for the Indian market. However, the Innova and the Ertiga have been the only exceptions to do succeed in a segment where other automakers have been witnessing poor sales.
Chevrolet offers the Enjoy in petrol and diesel options in the country. The petrol version gets a 1.4-litre engine which generates 103bhp of power and 131Nm of torque. The diesel version gets a 1.3-litre engine which generates 76bhp of power and 188Nm of torque. Both the engines come mated to a 5-speed manual transmission.
