Honda recently launched cosmetically upgraded versions of CBR250R and CBR150R at their Revfest. But, we may not have been as lucky as Indonesia, where the company has launched an updated CB150R StreetFire. The company was thinking of bringing the bike to India but for some reason, it decided otherwise.

StreetFire is a naked version of CBR150R and is sold for around Rs. 1.2 lakh in Indonesia. Being a naked version does not mean that it exactly resembles its faired sibling, you can say that it just borrows the engine. It does not have split seats and lacks the sleek exhaust but the bike has a charm of its own. Key hole is located on the tank where the company has provided an extra bit of plastic for design purpose. It has all digital display fitted above the headlight which keeps the speed-o-meter separate from the rest of info with a plastic lining. The bike seems closer to the lately launched Hornet 160R.

The engine is a 150 cc 16 bhp unit which propels the bike with 14 Nm of torque. It has also received new wheels in the form of a 5x2 unit and its exhaust now resembles that of Yamaha FZ. The headlight is similar to the Hornet 160R and the performance figures also match it.

Honda Motorcycles and Scooters India (HMSI) have not provided any engine upgrades on their CBR bikes since their launch and that is what pulling them back behind KTM. The only thing that can be called new in the Revfest was CBR650F. CBR150R and CBR250R received new colours and the so called new Hornet 160R is nothing else but an updated CB Trigger with a new badge. Honda still dominates the scooter segment but it is lagging behind in motorcycle segment.
