Kia Motors has launched the Seltos in India at a starting price of Rs 9.69 lakhs which goes all the way to Rs 15.99 lakhs for the top-spec variant (ex-showroom, India). Appearance-wise, the Kia Seltos has a very busy yet likeable front design. The chrome-finished characteristic tiger-nose grille is flanked by stylish pair of headlamps which are integrated with LED day-time-running lights. The horizontally stacked fog-lamps also looks handsome while on the side, the Creta-like silhouette is instantly likeable. The Seltos sits on 16-inch wheels as standard but can be upgraded to 17-inches on higher variants.
At the back, the well-appointed LED headlamps add to the muscular stance of Seltos. There’s chrome slat joining the taillamps and the sculpted bumper with faux bash plates rounds off the Seltos’ aggressive design. Dimension wise, the Seltos measures 4315x1800x1620 mm with a wheelbase of 2610mm, a ground clearance of 190mm and a boot space of 433 litres.
On the inside, the cabin is feature-loaded and well laid out. The dual-tone black and beige sports a flat-bottom multi-functional steering wheel and a digital display for the automatic air-con unit. On GT line, there’s contrasting red-stitching as well as sporty upholstery. The party piece is a large panel that integrates the 10.25-inch infotainment system and the instrument cluster. Kia is also offering a heads-up display with one of the top-spec variant of the Seltos. In terms of features, the five-seater comes loaded with eight-speaker Bose audio system, sound mood lighting, 360-degree camera, sunroof, UVO Connect internet connectivity features, integrated air purifier, ventilated seats and much more.
Powertrain options for the Kia Seltos Go like this – a 1.5-litre petrol engine with either a six-speed manual transmission or a CVT automatic unit, a 1.4-litre turbo-petrol engine paired with a six-speed manual transmission or a seven-speed DCT unit, and a 1.5-litre diesel engine that is paired with a six-speed manual transmission or a six-speed automatic transmission. The 1.5-litre petrol motor puts out 115bhp/114Nm while the diesel is good for 155bhp/250Nm. On the other hand, the 1.4-lire petrol engine delivers 140bhp/242Nm.
