Austrian bike maker KTM has been in the news in recent times, mainly for giving an upgrade to the Duke 390 and 200 models. Now, in a fresh development, speculations of the brand trying to develop a V4 road motorcycle have surfaced. According to a report by Visordown, a test bike rider from KTM was spotted in Spain riding a heavily camouflaged motorcycle. Sources suggest that this bike could have been the Aprilia Tuono. Unfortunately, no images are there to validate the claim. Regardless of the fact it is being said that many riders from KTM have been spotted with this bike near the firm’s facility.

KTM has done really well to hide this entire operation and it has used a large screen to do so. On this move, industry experts believe that KTM is doing nothing different as compared to other bike manufacturers around the world. Generally, testing the bike of a rival firm is done when the former is in the process of developing a similar model. The development phase sees a company ensuring that the new bike it is trying to manufacture is at par, if not better, than the best performing model in the segment. Also, the firm tries to work out every single detail that needs to be known about the well performing bike.

Though the reports of the development of a V4 road motorcycle by KTM are strong, the process might just be in its formative stages. KTM, as per the experts, will be using a V4 engine in the bike to compete with the upcoming BMW S1000XR.
