Initially brought to the public limelight during the EICMA 2013, the Honda CBR300R had been facing a slight delay globally due to a number of unavoidable reasons. As a result of this factor, the popular brand had to push the release of this bike back by quite some time. It has been made available for the customers in Europe in this month and was scheduled to be available for the Indian fans by end of 2014. However, the growing problems have delayed the release of this model further and Honda India has decided not to put the CBR300R up fir sake anytime soon. As per the current reports, the quarter litre sports motorcycle will be made available for the Indian fans only by next year.

The Japanese automaker has cancelled dealership training plans for the upcoming selling of CBR300R. Instead, it has focussed on clearing the inventory for CBR250R, which is on the high due to high production rates of this model. The brand has also focussed their attention on the 100-110 cc segment and has recently come up with the Honda CD 110 Dream motorcycle. It will definitely want to go ahead with the premium sports bike CBR300R, but for getting the mass support, it has to target the mass. The best way to do that is to get hold of the market in at least one segment. Once this part is done, giving a stiff competition to Hero will just be matter of time. High-end models then might be launched to add that extra zing in their sales programs.

The upcoming CBR300R will be a worthy successor to the CBR250R in more ways than one. This sports bike will definitely add on to the good points of its successor and iron the slight issues that were prevalent in the outgoing model. On the contrary, it is expected that the brownie points of CBR250R and the recent modifications in the CBR300R like more output and power will be a thing to watch out for. The model once released will compete against the much hyped KTM RC390 and RC200 and even the Kawasaki Ninja 300 models.

CBR250R was proud enough to use an engine, which displaced 249 cc. Now, the CBR300R has been provided with a 286 cc single-cylinder engine, which will be able to generate a power of 30.4 bhp and 27 Nm of torque. With a 6-speed gearbox, the bike has been given heavier and more efficient balancer shafts to remove any vibration. The kerb weight has been reduced by 6.8 kg to make the power to weight ratio more efficient. However, the bike has undergone a severe change as far as the looks are concerned. The first thing that you will notice about the CBR300R is that the single headlamp has been replaced by twin headlamps. The ABS feature will be made available in the higher-end variants to keep the price competitive. It is expected that the Honda CBR300R will be priced under 2.5 lakhs INR when launched next year.
