India’s second largest car maker and largest exporter, Hyundai Motors India Ltd is set to export India made Hyundai Grand i10 to the overseas market. Our sources have been able to get their hands on the spy shots of left hand drive model of Hyundai’s popular hatchback Grand i10 which was caught undergoing test rounds in Chennai. This hints at the car maker’s plan to export locally manufactured Grand i10 to overseas market in coming time. Sources close to the development reveal that Hyundai is contemplating to export Grand i10 to European market, however there is no official word out from the auto cos on it yet.
Other international markets including Argentina and South America are also on radar so it is likely that Hyundai could launch Grand i10 in these automotive markets also. The current slump in domestic market has skewed the focus of many car makers in India towards export. Hyundai is tagged as the largest car exporter in India since a large chunk of its monthly sales is driven by exports. Inducted in India in 2013, Grand i10 is a popular hatchback in the domestic market and offering such products in overseas markets will help the auto major to maintain its position as the largest exporter of India.
For now, Hyundai is making modifications to the hatchback to suit the requirement of these international markets. Presently there is no information on the time frame when Hyundai plans to commence export, but hopefully, it will begin soon.
