Mahindra & Mahindra has shown a huge heart by showing its support for the earthquake-stricken Nepal. It has decided to send some of its vehicles to Nepal for the purpose of rehabilitation. The country was recently hit by a devastating earthquake, which measured 7.9 on the Richter scale. It has left thousands of people dead, homeless and injured. Also, the country has been disastrously damaged. The company will provide some of their tractors and pickup trucks to Mahindra with the help of local distributors in Nepal.
The Group Chairman & Managing Director of Mahindra & Mahindra said, “At Mahindra our heart goes out to the victims of this unfortunate tragedy. The pain of Nepal is felt by each member of the Mahindra family. We do hope and pray that our humble support helps the earthquake victims in Nepal and in India to get back to normalcy at the earliest.”The company will also send its services to various parts of India apart from Nepal.
The gesture and the efforts of the manufacturer are laudable at a time when the country has just witnessed one of the most severe natural disasters of all time. Incidentally, this earthquake is the most dangerous to hit the country in the last 81 years. We sincerely hope that other manufacturers to take up this initiative in a time of disaster.
