The Mahindra S101 mini SUV which is rumored to be called either the XUV100 or KUV100, has been spied testing once again. Expected to be launched by the end of 2015, the Mahindra S101will rival the Ford EcoSport, Maruti Suzuki Wagon R and Tata’s upcoming Nexon. The latest spyshots reveal that the production-ready version of the vehicle features front grille with vertical slats, projector headlamps and clamshell hood. The car will ride on 15-inches wheels, and feature a long wheelbase.

The Mahindra S101 will be the company’s second product to be based on the all-new monocoque platform. With six-seat configuration, the mini SUV will offer decent cabin space. Inside, it will get an all-new interior theme, dashboard with piano black treatment, leather upholstery, and silver accents on instrument binnacle, centre console and steering wheel, adding more to its appeal.

The mini SUV might also be equipped with a small touchscreen display, automatic climate control, an infotainment system and a multi-function steering wheel. Safety features like anti-lock braking system (ABS), electronic brake-force distribution (EBD) and electronic stability program (ESP) might also be on offer. Mahindra will offer an all-new 1.2-litre petrol engine on the mini SUV. This engine has been developed with joint efforts of the home-grown carmaker and Ssangyong. Power will be transmitted to the wheels via a five-speed manual transmission, coupled with FWD (front-wheel drive) system.

To be positioned below the new Quanto, the Mahindra S101 is expected to be priced between Rs. 4 lakh (for base variant) – Rs. 6.5 lakh (for top-model).
