Maruti Suzuki Baleno Spotted in Gurgaon - Video

Scheduled to launch on October 26, 2015, the Maruti Suzuki Baleno has been spotted testing once again on Indian roads. With Hyundai Elite i20, Honda Jazz and Volkswagen Polo in its sight, the Maruti Suzuki Baleno is expected to be priced around Rs. 6 lakh – Rs. 9 lakh (ex-showroom). This premium hatchback will be Maruti Suzuki’s second product to be sold through Nexa dealerships. The production of the car will take place at the company’s Manesar facility. Just so you know, the vehicle was unveiled at the 2015 Frankfurt Motor Show.

To recap, the Baleno is expected to be offered with two engine options – a 1.2-litre petrol and 1.3-litre Multijet diesel – that also do duty to the Swift and Swift Dzire. While the former churns out a maximum power of 90bhp and 118Nm, the latter one is good for 89bhp and 200Nm. Transmission options on offer are – a five-speed manual and a CVT (continues variable transmission). In terms of design, the production-ready Baleno looks similar to the iK-2 concept which was unveiled at the 2015 Geneva Motor Show. The hatchback is based on Suzuki’s new-generation platform, and measures 3,995mm in length, 1, 745mm in width and 1,470mm in height. The car gets a wheelbase of 2,520mm that makes it quite spacious for five adult passengers.

As far as features are concerned, the Maruti Suzuki Baleno will be equipped with 7-inch SmartPlay infotainment system with Apple CarPlay (first-in-segment), automatic climate control,2-DIN audio system with Bluetooth connectivity, navigation system, power folding mirrors, reverse parking sensor, dual airbags, ABS, EBD, etc.
