      Maruti launches new campaign for Wagon R

      Amidst the high profile launch of the new generation Maruti Swift in the Indian market, Indian auto giant Maruti seems to have decided not to leave the other high performing portfolio cars on their own. The company has come-up with an all new advertising campaign for its second bestselling car – Wagon R. The new campaign promotes the Maruti Wagon R as the choice of the smart guy. The new campaign marks the WagonR’s crossing 10,00,000 unit sales mark about a few month back.

      According to Shashank Srivastava, chief general manager, marketing, MSIL, “A fresh communication always prompts people to buy.” He added that the WagonR is the second best-selling MSIL car after the Alto.

      The recently launched campaign will make sure that volume driving cars like Wagon R don't get swamped amidst the high profile launch of Swift and upcoming Swift Dzire. The Swift model is speculated to be snatching the second best selling car’s spot from Wagon R, considering the high demand for the Swift. It is to be mentioned that the bookings of all new Swift crossed the 50,000 units in just one month period during its launch, indicating towards its sales clocking 18,000 units per month.

      It has become a dual fight for the Wagon R model in the Indian market. At one hand it is receiving competition form its own siblings like A-Star, Swift and Ritz, on the other hand, new entrants like Chevrolet Beat and Etios Liva have raised the competition to a very high level for Wagon R.
