The Wagon R hatchback from Maruti Suzuki has been a popular choice amongst Indian consumers. For a while now reports of a hybrid variant likely to be launched had been doing rounds. This time around fresh reports from sources have indicated that the new Wagon R FZ Hybrid variant has arrived in the country for research and development purpose.
The current trim is offered with a K-Series petrol engine, whereas the upcoming Wagon R FZ Hybrid would feature 660cc petrol engine that may also come mated to a CVT gearbox system. The Lithium-ion battery shall power the electric motor in the vehicle. For enhanced fuel efficiency figures from the vehicle, it may also feature the innovative Idling-stop start technology.
Speaking about technology, the electric motor restores energy every time the vehicle declarates. The saved energy is then utilized for powering the audio system and AC systems. However, the company has not confirmed if it would be launched in the domestic market and more details on the same will revealed at a later date.
