Honda’s Indonesian subsidiary has launched the facelifted version of its Mobilio MPV. While the changes are cosmetic only, the bland interior gets a makeover while the exterior gets subtle changes.
The changes to the exterior are hardly noticeable with an embellishment for the fog lamp housing being the only thing that stands out. Majority of the changes are inside the car with the Mobilio moving towards the Honda City/BR-V and away from the Amaze inspired interiors. The black and beige dual-tone dashboard looks nice with the touch-panel AC controls like the City. Even the circular AC vents have been ditched for the better looking rectangular AC vents with silver accents.
Technically there are no changes and the Mobilio gets the 118bhp i-Vtec 1.5-litre four-cylinder engine. Unlike India, the Indonesian model gets an automatic transmission option. The Mobilio facelift rides on newly designed alloy wheels. It was launched in India in mid-2014 and going by their three-year update cycle, the updates will come to India not earlier than next year.
Also with the BR-V being showcased at the Auto Expo along with the new Honda Accord, the chances of the Mobilio getting a facelift before the Brio or Amaze are very low.
