The Grand i10 has always been an important product for the Korean automaker in the Indian market. This time around the automaker has launched a new facelift version to keep the potential customers interest in the product. Along with fresh feature and style upgrades, the new model also gets a new 1.2-litre diesel engine. The diesel variant is restricted to manual transmission, while the petrol variant is available in manual as well as CVT option. The Indian market being competitive in nature, we list down a few other options that you can consider for the price of a new Grand i10.
Starting with the Grand i10 base variant which is the most affordable among the entire range comes with decent amount of specs like gear shift indicator, AC with heater and multi information display as standard along with driver side airbag for safety. Close on heels, we also have the recently launched base Sigma variant of the Ignis which gets dual airbags and ABS as standard. Tata also offers the Tiago with front airbags as standard. For those who are keener on low cost running and CNG option, you have the WagonR CNG as well as top spec VXI+ variant. Moreover, Maruti also offers the top spec with ABS for a similar price. For those interested in diesel, Tata Motors takes a lead with Tiago offering a top spec diesel around a similar price as the base Grand i10 diesel variant.
Moving up the ladder, the Grand i10 Magna variant additionally gets impact sensing auto door unlock, roof antennae, front passenger seat back pocket, all-four power windows and has quite a lot of competitors in terms of Zest, Brio, Sail, Ignis, Dzire, Celerio and the WagonR. The variant also offers steering wheel mounted controls. As for competitors like Swift, Sail and Dzire, they all offer ABS as an option.
For customers who were always interested in top-spec variant, you have the Grand i10 Asta in addition to all the features in the Sportz variant, the trim offers driver seat height adjuster, adjustable rear sear headrest, rear wiper, push button start stop, luggage lamp and more. At this price, buyers can also consider the Ignis automatic, Dzire and the Bolt.
The new Grand i10 from Hyundai gets fair share of upgrades and when it comes to choosing one, customers can opt for the Sportz variant in manual which indeed offers the best deal in the lot. This will however mean that customers will have to be ready to shell out between Rs 5.65 lakh to Rs 6.0 lakh. The automatic Sportz variant however comes off a bit too expensive at Rs 6.82 lakh. Though the lower variants do offer decent amount of features, its straight competitor Maruti Suzuki emerges stronger with CNG as well as AMT options at a lower price. On the overall pricing aspect especially in petrol option, Hyundai competes strongly with the Ignis trims, whereas in diesel Maruti’s Swift and Tata’s Tiago has emerged as a strong competitor to the Grand i10’s diesel trim.
