Skoda Auto, the completely owned division of Volkswagen, seems all prepared to carve a special niche in the Indian auto industry. The auto maker has officially announced to launch six new models in Europe, which are also expected to mark presence in the Indian auto market soon. The countdown will be starting with Rapid compact model, which is anticipated to release somewhere in January 2013. It will be followed with the launch of new generation Octavia in March 2013, while Fabia Combi is expected to appear in daylight somewhere in June.
Reportedly, three more vehicles will be arriving during August and December. The company officials have refused to name these models, but auto analysts expect them to be Octavia RS, reworked Superb and a new generation model of Yeti.
As none of the company officials entertained comments on the launch of abovementioned models in India, auto experts are quite sure for the launch of at least three models from Skoda India in 2013. Strong rumours are taking rounds of the statement that a revamped model of Superb and Octavia is scheduled to mark presence by the end of current calendar year.
It must be noted that the auto maker has already planned to introduce a special model of Yeti Sports Utility Vehicle (SUV), named as Laurent & Klement edition, which is titled after the name of Skoda founders Vaclav Laurin and Vaclav Klement. Reportedly, several new features will be packed within the upcoming new edition model, which will surely strike right chords with the hearts of Indian buyers.
All these models are sure to turn the tides in Skoda's favour as the auto maker has not attained much appreciation in country, until the last year. Skoda India came out to be a game changer when it introduced a reworked model of premium sedan Superb, Fabia hatch and recently introduced Rapid mid-size sedan. Currently, the company has five models in its Indian portfolio, namely Fabia hatchback, Rapid mid-size sedan, Laura executive sedan, Yeti SUV and Superb premium sedan.
