Nissan Sunny and Tata Manza Club Class compete against each other in the mid-size sedan segment of the Indian passenger market. Both sedans are offered in the Rs. 5.7 to 9 lakhs price bracket, which has piled on confusion for those who intend to buy one of them.
The mid-level sedan Nissan Sunny looks classier than the Indian made Tata Manza Club Class and has bigger dimensions as well. The Japanese auto major has enthused a sense of grandeur and luxury in its Sunny sedan, which boasts off a best-in-class legroom and overall interior volume. The Manza Club Class was launched in October 2012 and came with a number of interior and exterior refinements. The stunning exterior looks helped the car in generating a lot positive reviews and feedback from the industry. The interiors of Manza Club Class are definitely worth the money, but the vehicle falls short in terms of cockpit space management. The interior quality of Manza sedan definitely stands apart in the segment and has been a major reason for driving its sales in the country.
Coming to under-the-hood specifications of Nissan Sunny, the mid-size sedan comes fitted with a 1.5 litre, 4 cylinder petrol motor that belts out a maximum output power of 99 bhp and peak torque delivery of 134 Nm. Further, the diesel Sunny comes assimilated with a 1.5 litre, 1,461 cc, 4 cylinder K9K SOHC diesel engine, which churns out peak output power and torque of 85 bhp and 200 Nm.
On the other hand, Tata Manza Club Class incorporates 1.4 litre Safire90 petrol and 1.3 litre Quadrajet90 diesel engines under its hood. Both Safire90 and Quadrajet90 powertrains churn out a peak output power of 88.8 bhp. Hence, in terms of engine power and torque performance, the Nissan Sunny is a lot meaner and edgier than Tata Manza Club Class mid-size sedan.
At present, Nissan Sunny is offered to domestic audience at a base price tag of Rs. 5.9 lakhs that goes on till close to Rs. 8.9 lakhs. Tata Motors offers its Manza Club Class sedan within a price range of Rs. 5.7 lakhs and Rs. 8.8 lakhs, in the Indian passenger car market. Evidently, there's not much difference between Sunny and Manza Club Class in terms of pricing. However, Sunny has better engine performance, spacing and looks, and is a product of Japanese automobile engineering. In all fairness, Nissan Sunny outscores Tata Manza Club Class in the Indian auto market.
