Suzuki is all set to make the 30th anniversary of the legendary GSX-R superbike memorable. The company has decided to roll out a special livery to commemorate the occasion. This Team Yoshimura Suzuki race bike will feature a special black and red livery on the occasion of the AMA Superbike race, which will be organised at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway in America.

The new livery has been inspired from the original red and black livery of the 1986 GSX-R, which was ridden by Kevin Schwantz. This awe-inspiring colour will adorn the bike of Roger Hayden this coming weekend at Indianapolis as well as at the MotoAmerica finale in September 2015. Additionally, the entire crew of the Team Yoshimura as well as Roger will deck themselves up in the red and black theme, for their racing and gear for the occasion.

The GSX-R has been one of the most iconic superbikes in the racing series across the globe. This bike has a significant contribution in Suzuki becoming the all-time leader in the AMA Superbike Racing Series. Though the company has not revealed any plans of officially making the paint scheme available for production motorcycles, it might do the same sometime later. The Japanese manufacturer had previously debuted a blue and white livery to be sported on the GSX-R1000 superbike – the flagship model. This new livery drew its inspiration from the production version of the 1985 GSX-R750.

Don Sakakura, Senior VP of the Yoshimura R&D of America was present at the occasion and spoke about the 30th anniversary of GSX-R. He said, “We are excited to be able to do our part to celebrate the 30th Anniversary of the GSX-R. We at Yoshimura are very pleased that we played a part in launching the GSX-R line in America in 1986 with Kevin Schwantz as our primary rider. It’s only appropriate that such an iconic motorcycle be honoured at one of the truly iconic racing circuits of the world.”
