Tata Motors is set to launch the Maruti Suzuki Celerio rival in India tomorrow. Renamed as the Tigao from the Zica, the hatchback launch has been pushed to April, with the controversy surrounding the ‘Zika’ virus in Latin America.
The Tigao hatchback will be available with both the petrol and diesel engine options at the time of the launch. The petrol engine will be the same 1.2-litre Revtron unit developing 84bhp and 114Nm of torque. The diesel mill on the other hand is an all-new unit with the displacement of 1.05-litres and power rating of 67bhp and 140Nm.
The hatchback has plenty of features considering its segment. The top spec variant of the Tiago gets the Juke App to pair with multiple phones and stream music. It also has rear parking sensors and steering mounted audio control. Tata has really worked on the interior quality, additionally this car also has plenty of cubby holes for storage.
The Tigao is expected to have a very competitive starting price of around Rs 4 lakh, even the diesel trim should start at around Rs 4.5 lakh. Stay tuned to CarTrade tomorrow for all the details on the car from the launch venue.
