Scooty has always been a popular name in the country since the time when automatic scooter concept was not much popular locally. Talk about automatic scooter and the people would say Scooty! TVS has recently launched its popular scooter Scooty rechristened as the new Scooty Zest 110 in India priced at an attractive price tag of about Rs 42,300 (ex-showroom Delhi). On first look, the scooter seems to be an uplift of the Scooty Pep+ variant, probe further and you shall see a new instrument console with white background, wedge shaped rear end with boomerang turn indicators.
The new TVS Scooty Zest is powered by the existing line of 109.7 cc air-cooled engine that has been performing well with the recently launched Jupiter and Wego automatic scooters. The engine is capable of developing top power of 8 PS along with peak torque of 8.7 Nm and is capable of returning an impressive fuel efficiency of 62 kmpl. A CVT gearbox is mated to the engine. As for features the scooter gets LED taillight, open glove compartment, textured floor board, twilight lamps, back-lit odometer and stainless steel muffler guard.
As for upgrades in the new TVS Scooty Zest, it comes with reliable set of tubeless tyres for the front and back measuring 90/100-10 (front) and 90/90-10 (rear) respectively for a good grip. Ride quality is improved with front telescopic fork suspension and a single shock suspension at the rear. For control the scooter gets front drum brakes that measure 110 mm and rear drum brakes measure 130 mm. The scooter has a kerb weight of 97 kg and can rush from 0 to 60 kmph in 11.1 seconds. Fuel tank capacity of the new scooter is 5 litres and it also brags a storage compartment capacity of 19 litres. As far as dimensions are concerned, the scooter measures 1770 mm long, 660 mm wide, 1139 tall and has a wheelbase of 1250mm. Ride height stands at 760 mm.
First glimpse of the new TVS Scooty Zest was seen at the Auto Expo event held earlier this year. Now launched, the company has set expectations of about selling 10,000 units in the first month since launch. The stylish new Scooty Zest is primarily targeted for women rider in the country.
