The Ciaz sedan from Maruti Suzuki is all geared up to launched with a fresh set of upgrades. The upcoming trim named as Ciaz SHVS (Smart Hybrid Vehicle) is likely to be offered in three variants – VDi, ZDi, and ZDi+ variants. The sedan is not completely hybrid system based but more like a start towards better developments with inclusion of technology like lithium-ion battery, regenerative braking and stop-start technology.
The new Ciaz shall also be powered by a 1.3-litre multijet engine but with drivetrain updates to make the vehicle more environmentally friendly and efficient. In terms of fuel efficiency, the vehicle is expected to return a fuel efficiency figure of around 28-30 km/l. Apart from this, the sedan is expected to receive a fresh touch for the interior as well as the exterior.
The company has not yet spoken on the pricing aspect for now, however it is likely that Maruti Suzuki may offer the new trim at an additional cost of about Rs 1.5 Lakh over the existing pricing. The vehicle is expected to be offered on sale probably in the next week and more details shall be revealed then.
