The Yamaha MT 25 will be unveiled on June 6, 2015 in Indonesia. The company has, in fact, uploaded a teaser video of the bike on its official YouTube channel that invites its fans to join the biker street night party - ‘NakedRevolution’ – on 6th June.
Being a naked sibling of the Yamaha R25, the MT 25 shares various components with the bike. Talking about the engine, the Yamaha MT 25 is powered with the same 250cc, parallel-twin engine that does duty to the Yamaha R25. Mated to a 6-speed transmission, this engine produces a maximum power of 36PS and 22.6Nm of peak torque. The MT 25 will feature an instrument cluster, a short exhaust, webbed alloy wheels and chiseled tank similar to the R25. While, the handlebar and seat will be tweaked for more upright riding position.
Similar to the R25, the production of the Yamaha MT 25 will take place in Indonesia in 2015. Though, there is no clarity if Yamaha Indonesia Motor Manufacturing (YIMM) will export the bike to other Asian countries or not.
We are not sure if this bike will come to India, since the company is, still, exploring options and is yet to decide if it's planning to launch R3 or R25 in the Indian market. That said, the bikemaker had imported both the motorcycles for the Research & Development purpose.
