Irrespective of the fact that the Indian bike market has witnessed the growing tendencies of tourer and sports bikes lovers, the majority of the revenue is generated from the commuter segment. This category is the one that drives the volumes in the Indian market. Incidentally, the most important aspect of this segment was efficiency classically. However, a certain amount of styling has been demanded by the bike lovers, even for the budget segment. The manufacturers have taken note of this fact and Bajaj, one of the most popular names, has decided to launch a new brand, which will take care of the efficiency and styling demands of the modern-age customer.
Bajaj Motorcycles was on a break for few months but it seems that the manufacturer has entered a launching spree recently. The first model to be launched was Platina 100ES in the market. It was followed by the eagerly anticipated Pulsar RS200. The market then got to witness the Pulsar AS200 and later AS150.
The increased number of launches in the last couple of months has shown the aggressive strategy of Bajaj. Incidentally, the company had lost some momentum due to the lack of if good products in the market. For instance, Bajaj Discover had been launched with a number of variants in the recent past without much success.
The Chakan-based bike manufacturer also has the Discover and Platina monikers on sale. This has hinted towards the fact that the new commuter bike will be placed between the two. The first offering might be a 125 cc motorcycle, which will feature a mature design. It is expected that the new bike will give a strong competition to Hero Ignitor and Honda Stunner. It can be guessed that the new bike will come with a 124.6 cc engine, which will be capable of generating 11.5 PS and 10.8 Nm.
Bajaj is making its best efforts to grab a better hold in the commuter segment. It is expected that the new model will be launched in the second half of the running fiscal. Also, there are chances that the CS400 power cruiser will be launched by the end of March 2016.
