Ahead of its anticipated launch sometime in 2018, the new Ford Figo test mule images have surfaced once again. The upcoming new model is expected to get a new petrol engine and fresh cosmetic upgrades. As compared to the current generation model which was introduced in 2015, the new model is expected to get a sportier appeal. The new Ford Figo is likely to be showcased at the upcoming 2018 Auto Expo event.
Mechanically, the new Ford Figo will continue to be powered by a 1.0-litre TDCi engine that generates 99bhp of power at 3750rpm and 215Nm of torque at 1750rpm. The diesel engine comes mated to a five-speed manual transmission. This time around the Figo facelift is expected to be offered with a new 1.5-litre three cylinder petrol engine which has been recently introduced in the new EcoSport. The new petrol engine generates 121bhp of power at 6500rpm and 150Nm of torque at 4500rpm. The petrol engine might be offered in five-speed manual and six-speed automatic transmission options.
As for the interior, the new Ford Figo is likely to get the new touchscreen infotainment system with SYNC3, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. The vehicle is also expected to get revised upholstery and new interior theme. The vehicle is likely to be launched in 2018 and more details about the new Figo will be revealed early next year.
Based on what can be seen, the new model is expected to get a new grille, redesigned bumpers and tweaked blacked out headlamp. The sides look more or less the same as the current generation model, however this time around it gets fresh set of newly designed alloy wheels. The taillights have also been tweaked for freshness.
